final product... enjoy
Many people are out to get my father right now. He owes a lot of money to both the emperor and many shops in our town. My father is all about looking good with his big coats and hand made swords. He doesn’t need half the things he owns. My father is now on his deathbed and can’t address all of these problems. I have just been informed that it’s my duty to take his place and become queen. My father has just raised taxes because he needed more money to afford his luxuries and still give money to the emperor. The bank had stopped loaning my father money because he owes them enough already. The basic picture here is my father is in debt and it is now on my shoulders to set everything right. Many people have come by my house and asked me to pay them back. Just the other day the black smith came by asked me when he would be getting his money.
I answered “I am sorry about the delay but I was just informed not to long ago that I will become queen and I am not sure yet how I am going to fix my fathers mistakes. So if you could please be patient for a little longer that would be nice.”
“You are just like your father. I am never going to get my money am I. well let me tell you something little missy, the next time I come by here I better have my money. You and your father are both a disgrace.” The black smith told me with an angry tone in his voice. The black smith turned toward the down left without a sound. I had no I idea what I was going to do. The emperor was asking for more money, which means I have to raise taxes once again. The town’s people will become rebellious and this would make the emperor send in his troops and have me sent out of town. I have to figure out someway to repay everyone. The bank was coming by tomorrow to collect their money. There was no way I could get them their money by tomorrow. I had to make some trade with them, something they would be interested in. I could raise taxes again… no wait. I am already doing that to pay the emperor and if I were to raise the taxes even more it wouldn’t be fair to the people of the town. They wouldn’t be able to get by on food and clothing if they didn’t have much money to keep for themselves. I wish I could help them but I have problems of my own. What if I were to join them, be rebellious toward the empire. If I were to do that I wouldn’t be fulfilling my duty and my father would have been very disappointed in me. Then again my father has disappointed me much more than I would ever disappoint him. He left all of his problems on my shoulders to deal with. If I side with the people the town will realize I am for them and I am not like my father. But if I were to do this then I wouldn’t be able to be princess, the emperor would send his troops out from all over the empire to send me out of town. This would cause a huge war between our town and the rest of the empire. What if the town wouldn’t back me up, what if I propose to the town I will join them to rebel against the empire but they don’t support me and I am left not a princess anymore or respected by the town. Really, joining the town is the only option I have because if I don’t take the chance of totally being neglected by the town I will still be in debt because of my father and the bank won’t leave me alone. I am going to have to think about this for a little while. I decided to go out the garden by my house. It is my favorite place to go. It is filled with beautiful different color flowers and the grass out there is the greenest in the town. There are many small trees with all different color leaves all over the garden but my favorite tree is the biggest one on the garden. It is a huge tree with pink flowers on it just starting to blossom. The tree provides good shade. When the weather is hot out I love going under the tree and read a good book. I love reading; it gives so much imagination for the mind. I walked by the rose bushes smelling the wonderful smells. I started to think about what I was going to do about my being in debt. I am not ready to be queen. I know nothing about it. Maybe that is the answer to my question. If I am not ready to be queen then I should just join the town. That is exactly what I shall do. I will announce it to the town tomorrow. I shall call everyone in the town for a meeting. I do hope I am making the right decision. I continued to walk in the garden. There was something about it here that made my thoughts clear. It might be because it is so beautiful out here and quiet. No one ever comes out here but me, I don’t know why because it is so beautiful but then again I am glad no one else comes out here because it then makes this place my own. I sat down on a bench by the pond. In the pond is a small waterfall. I love the sound of the water crashing into the pond water. If I could I would live out here. I just sat outside on the bench for a while not thinking about anything. It felt like forever since I have just sat on this bench not think about anything. The last time I was out here was when my father first became ill. I remember being sad but I did not cry. I am still not sure why I didn’t cry but I am guessing it was because that was when I first realized it was my turn to become queen and I was in so much shock that it was finally my time to fulfill my duty. Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamed about becoming queen. I thought it would be the best thing ever to happen to me but now that my dream is actually happening I am not excited but scared. Everyone depends on me and that is just too overwhelming. This is why I have decided to join the town. I stayed outside for about the rest of the day. I did not want to go back to my house because then people of my town would come looking for me and demanding that I give them their money. I just cleared my mind and lay down on the bench. When I woke up it was darker outside, the sun was just going down. That night the sunset was more beautiful than usual. It was mostly pink but with a thin line of purple that went through it. I couldn’t tell what time it was but I knew that people would start to wonder. It was quite chilly out so I decided to start walking back to my house. How everything was lit up was just so beautiful I couldn’t even begin to explain how pretty it was. When I finally reach my house the butler answered the door asking, “Where were you Madame? People have been trying to get a hold of you. The people from the bank stopped by again and asked that I tell you to report back to them as soon as possible.”
I simply just walked right by him not saying a word. I then looked back and answered, “this will all be dealt with tomorrow.” And then I continued forward and whispered to myself allowed “I hope”. I went up to my room and went to sleep.
The next day was the day I was going to announce to my town that I was going to rebel against the empire with them. I asked my butler to send out men to go and tell the people of my town to come to my town meeting. “It will be hosted outside of my house. Right out there.”
“Are you sure that is a good idea, you know the crowd might go erupt and wont leave your property.”
“Why will they be angry with me? I am helping by giving them a voice toward the emperor. Everything will be fine.” I lied to myself. The men that I asked for were sent out and as I saw them leave I knew from that point on there was no turning back. I stayed in my room for a long time. I looked out the window and first I saw my reflection looking back at me. I looked like a nervous wreck. If I couldn’t even believe in myself than how could they? I called in my maid to fix up my hair. Doing my hair is such a hassle. I stared in the mirror and tried to convince myself that I was leader and everything will turn out right. After a while the maid finished with my hair. I went to my dresser and pulled out a rather fine dress. I grabbed a pair of shoes to match it. My butler came in my room and said with his nose stuck up in the air “miss they are ready for you”. It was finally time for me to go out and show my face to the crowd. The day had gone by quickly. I looked in the mirror one last time and reminded myself I needed to believe in me. I turned away form my mirror and left the room. I walked down the hall feeling like I was going to faint. The hallway soon ended then came the stairs. I lifted my dress slightly to keep it from getting caught under my feet. I went down each step very slowly. Taking my time, not in a hurry to face the crowd I started to think about the consequences again about what I was doing. About half way down I stopped and sat down on the stair. I took three deep breaths then stood up again. I was going to go out there with confidence. Let them know that I am making the right decision and them taking my lead is the right things to do. I continued down the stairs realizing how many there actually are. Once I stepped off the last stair I felt like I was going to throw up but did not stop. I continued toward the door. There, my butler was waiting for me to open the door. I stepped out and faced everyone. I felt like a completely different person. I didn’t let the fact that I was a nervous wreak show up on my face. As I opened my mouth to speak a familiar voice shouted out “are you here to raise the taxes again or do you have something else you want to take away from us? Or how about paying us our money that you owe us.” I was in shock; I didn’t think this is how my speech would start out.
“You are just like your father” another voice called out.
“No I am not,” I said in a stern voice. I am tired of people comparing me to my father. We are completely different people. “I have come here today to declare that I do not agree with the emperor and I want to do something about it. I wish to rebel against the emperor with and that may even lead into a war with the empire.”
“And what make you think we want to go to war?” another voice shouted
“Well I know that you don’t want to keep on being taxed ridiculously and not have the rights you deserve. The only way to let the empire know that you aren’t going to put up with being treated like dirt is to stand up against him. But you know if you don’t agree with me you always could just let it be and go on living with your lives. Oh but wait I was suppose to raise the taxes again today because the emperor would like more money but I guess that doesn’t bother you because you don’t want to say anything about it to the emperor. You might as well just give him all the money you have now because pretty soon it will turn out like that. You won’t have enough money to live your lives well.”
“What do you recommend we do? We don’t have enough materials, money, or the guts for that matter to rebel against the empire.”
“All you need is the heart of a warrior and you will be fine. I am still figuring this out as I go but it will turn out fine.” I was lying to everyone in the crowd and to myself. I had no idea what the turn out will be. All I know is I am the one who is going to be in the most danger. I was risking my whole life and my dream of becoming princess.
“You aren’t just doing this to make peace with us and have us forget about you owing us money.” another man said with a bit of attitude.
“Of course not. Why would I give up my position as queen just to get out of paying you money? I do not run away from my mistakes. I am doing this for you, and me. As I have said before I do not believe in what the emperor wants from us. But if you would like I could just forget all about this and just take my place as queen and continue to tax you.”
“You really do want to help us. I am fed up with the empire and the rest of the ruling family. Your father was just like the empire. He never cared about anything or one but himself. He only raised taxes yet again to keep himself above us in wealth. He needed the luxurious life that none of us could ever have because of him. Your father needs a new fur coat and how does he get it? Through us, we work day and night to make our own living but wait your father needs his fur coat so how is he going to get it if doesn’t have the money. He raises taxes the next day. Leaving us paying him more money and now need to work more and harder to earn more money for us. Now you stand here saying you want to help us. Generations of your family have been just like him, not caring about, in fact could care less if we are wealthy, healthy, or happy for that matter. You are now the first out of your family to even propose that you want to help us, weather you will follow through on your proposal or not I do not know but I will soon find out. Or shall I even take the chance of finding out. How do I know you won’t just end up being like the rest of your family? Tell me that, why should the rest of us and I trust you at all. Why take a chance with you,” a man shouted out with a powerful voice. He did not stutter a word. It sounded as if he practiced his speech; it was fluent and very powerful. At first I did not know how to answer the question but then it just came out
“Because I am not my father. I am not like the rest of my family. At least I am trying, that is more than any of the others of my family has done.”
“And how can we be sure that you aren’t going to turn out like your father.”
“Because how can I be like a man that I do not agree with at all. If I do not believe in what he does why would I enforce the same rules upon you all. I am proving myself by showing up here today. I truly do believe that we can defeat the entire empire but first you need to trust me. If you do not trust me we can’t get through any of this and when I say we I do mean me as well.”
“She may be our only way of getting the rights we deserve.” Another familiar voice called out. I looked out and it was no one other than the blacksmith who has been doubting me during this whole thing.
I felt a power within me that I have never felt before. The feeling just grew stronger and stronger. As I was talking I was getting carried away. Some of the things I was saying I didn’t even know I had felt. Every question that was thrown out to me I could answer it. I could even answer questions I hadn’t even thought about. As my speech grew longer I could feel the crowd joining my side. Time passed by and my speech grew stronger. Finally I convinced my town to join me and rebel against the emperor and even the entire empire if it were to go that far. At this point I knew that the people of the town were ready for whatever came at them. Maybe even war. I just could not fail them because once I do I will never have the respect from them that they have just given me but that is the thing I do not feel I will fail them. I have become a new person from this. I am now a stronger woman.
I answered “I am sorry about the delay but I was just informed not to long ago that I will become queen and I am not sure yet how I am going to fix my fathers mistakes. So if you could please be patient for a little longer that would be nice.”

my new and improved story

I just cleared my mind and laid down on the bench.
Right out there.” “Are you sure that is a good idea, you know the crowd might go erupt and wont leave your property.” “Why will they be angry with me? I am helping by giving them a voice toward the emperor. Everything will be fine.” I lied to myself. The men that I asked for were sent out and as I saw them leave I knew from that point on there was no turning back. I stayed in my room for a long time. I looked out the window and first I saw my reflection looking back at me. I looked like a nervous wreak. If I couldn’t even believe in myself than how could they? I called in my maid to fix up my hair.
The towns people will become rebellious and this would make the emperor send in his troops and have me sent out of town. When the weather is hot out I love going under the tree and reading a good book. I love reading, it gives so much imagination for the mind. 800 words (remember it's a RD)
I felt like I was 5 going on 30. My father was the best father ever. I didn’t think there was anyone better than him. My father had just become king two years before I was born. A year later he married my mother. They were very happy together and the town loved them, especially my mother. The next year they had me. The whole town knew about me. I would get gifts from all of the town’s people. It wasn’t that we needed the gifts for me it more along the lines of the town’s people wanted to be respected. I didn’t need the gifts because my family was very wealthy being in the royal family. My mother was the one who raised me she took me outside to the balcony off my room every night we watched the sunset go down. I would usually fall asleep before the sun went all the way down. My mother stayed outside with me in her lap until the sun was all the way down. When the sun is gone she would then lay me down on my bed and go to sleep. My mother’s name is Emmaline as well as is mine. My mother is very beautiful and she would keep my father inline when my father made a decision for the town that was completely insane. My mother had green eyes they reminded me of the tall cedar tree in the garden next to my balcony. I love going out in the night and look out to the stream by the forest.
“Miss your breakfast is ready. Is there anything else you need?” the maid asked me. “No thank you and tell my father I will be right down for breakfast please” I was always running a little late for breakfast. I didn’t know if it was because I was just never hungry that early in the morning or if I just procrastinate a bit too much. “Yes right away mam” she replied and turned around and left. I found my cloths for the day laying on my footstep. It was pink like the summers sunset. It had beautiful embroidery all along it. I got dressed as fast as I could. I then stepped outside to my balcony. It felt like the perfect morning. You know with the fantasy where all the animals are just coming out from the forest raining for about a week straight. First the birds come out soaring across the sky. Then the rabbits come hopping out with the deer following it out of the forest. The deer then stops and looks around. The deer would prance off looking all snooty then the slow turtle would take it time walking across this small patch of perfect green grass. I usually picture this every morning wishing that would actually happen. But if that were to happen then that would mean the world is perfect and perfection is exactly the opposite of what the world is. This might be why my imagination can carry me away is because I wanted perfection in the world but I knew I would never see it happen. I walked back inside my room after getting my morning fresh air. At this time my maid would usually comb and do my hair but I decided to comb it myself. I put my nice pink shoes on and hurried downstairs to breakfast. As I walked out of my room and closed my maid asked “May I make your bed now” “why yes thank you” I replied. The stairway went in a downward spiral and it was a hassle to go down. The steps seemed so far away from each other and made the stride of my step larger. It wasn’t the proper way to go down the steps but who was there to judge? I was wearing my nice shoes and as I went faster and faster I stumbled a couple of times. I didn’t know why I wanted to get to breakfast on time but I did. There was something about today that was extraordinary I just didn’t know what it was. It just felt like it.
When I finally arrived downstairs I found my father and mother waiting for me at the table. “You are down here rather early for your schedule.” My father told me rather surprised. “What, a daughter can’t be on time to breakfast” I replied sarcastically. “Do you have anything planed for today?” My mother asked me as if my schedule is always empty. My mother has been sick for about a month now. The doctors couldn’t figure out why she was sick but they promised they would do their best to try and figure it out. My mother acted as if there wasn’t anything wrong with her but I knew down inside she really was worried. She hasn’t lived long enough, hasn’t seen enough. If she had seen enough I don’t think she would be as worried about the fact that she might die.

My Outline
Within: a princess is tired of how her dad rules the people. She does not believe in what her dad (the King) wants theses people to do. She wants to know what the people have to say
Outward: the princess is getting blamed for the rules her father is making. People think she is just like her father because she is in the ruling family.
Exposition: the princess is a little girl and her father has just become king. The king promises he will do what is best for his nation.
Rising action: the princess is now in her teen and has grown up to become a beautiful young lady. The king has made the people mad by not keeping to his promises.
Climax: the princess’s father is getting sick and she must now marry a prince or someone of high ruling to take over as king. But the princess does not want to marry the man that she is arranged to marry.
Or another climax could be
Climax: the princess’s father is getting sick and she must take over her fathers place and become queen. However the people of where she lives think she is going to be just like her father and do not want her to become queen. The people don’t even want to give her a chance. They are starting to rebel and it is now on the princesses shoulders to set everything straight.
Falling action: nationalism begins and the people taking over. The king is now dead and no one is listening to what the princess has to say.
Resolution: nations have been created. (Don’t know what happens to the princess yet)

Nationalism basic questions
Nationalism was the making of nations within the world. It was thought that people should just believe in god and that was the ideal way to live but when nationalism came along it made a big fuss because each nation would be able to pay attention to their nations own interest. It was the middle class movement to have the nations be on the people not a dynastic ( a ruling family), god, or imperial domination. The Native American Iroquois also created a nation but strives to keep a sovereign sate but also wanted to keep their identity as people. Nationalism created different views on topics and created many problems but did do our society good.
